PRESS RELEASE The Water Network marks World Toilet Day in Zurich with winners of Gates Foundation’s “Reinvent The Toilet” Competition Winning Entry, Michael Hoffmann (CIT) & Special Recognition Recipient, Tove Larsen (Eawag) of the “Reinvent The Toilet” Competition are Keynote Speakers at the Water & Sanitation Event. Zurich, 12.11. 2012 - On the occasion of World Toilet Day, The Water Network is organizing a Water & Sanitation Networking Event, which will take place at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag) on Monday, 19 November 2012 from 18:00 to 21:00. The event will gather international water and water-related professionals from the private, academic and public sectors, as well as philanthropists and investors involved in sanitation projects. The program includes the following speakers:
“We look forward to bringing together diverse water experts and stakeholders who play a role in improving the sanitation situation around the world”, said Trudi Schifter, Founder of The Water Network. “The event will not only raise awareness on global sanitation issues and challenges, but also on new technologies that researchers and corporations are developing. The concept of this day and of this event fits perfectly with The Water Network’s goal of uniting water professionals to jointly build global sector intelligence.” The diversion toilet will be displayed to the public for the first time at the event venue.
